An original, modern(ish!) adaptation by Colm McCarthy of John Gay’s 18th century bawdy musical satire, The Beggars Opera. With music composed by the Olivier Award-winning, Grammy nominated Tiger Lillies and their “anarchic Brechtian street opera” style; Divadlo Miloco, in association with Prague Shakespeare Company, and an international ensemble of actors and musicians present a re-telling of this dark, brutal, comic and enduring tale. Set and costume design by the multi-award winning Bulgarian designer Youliana Voykova.
